Perhaps you love a bit of both worlds ( Euro - Caribbean)? If so, you’ll enjoy browsing through Salt & City Boutique. This boutique is inspired by a combination of island life and sophisticated living, which is reflected in their pieces. Or maybe you’ll wander into Always Summer for that understated chic style. This boutique is truly more than just clothing so whilst there, make sure to grab a cup of their signature coffee - you won’t regret it.

Speaking of options, let’s go to Bridgetown, the heartbeat of the island. While there, I hope you find the time while you're roaming the streets of Bridgetown to enjoy the local charm of Swan Street. Rubbing shoulders with the locals and devouring a snowcone (ask for coconut with milk, trust me on this one), but if you are strictly about the shopping then let's head to Broad Street. There you’ll find retail outlets for some of the finest names in jewellery, from your Diamonds International to Colombian Emeralds International and even Little Switzerland, and they carry all your favourite brands!
Truthfully you can’t really talk about shopping in Barbados having not explored the three floors of Cave Shepherd. From clothing to perfumes to makeup and toys, Cave Shepherd has something for every member of the family, it’s way more than a department store and I’m going to take you around.
As you enter, the ground floor is home to cosmetic brands like Estee Lauder, perfumes from Dolce & Gabbana, jewellery and watches, the perfect gift for that special someone, paired with a souvenir from the souvenir shop also located on the ground floor, the best way to say “With love, from Barbados”. Whilst you’re looking at souvenirs, you might as well check out the liquor department, another great local option (and the Worlds Oldest Rum) Mount Gay Rum circa 1703.
On the second floor is where we get dressed, in designer wear or sportswear, the perfect heel or the comfiest sneaker? You decide. The men’s collection for formal attire is top of the line, the only issue you’ll have is too many choices but if it were up to me, you can never go wrong with a Ralph Lauren slim fit shirt for him. Or I’d go with a dress from Cave Shepherd’s (Bridgetown Duty-Free Mall) Zac and Rachel collection, their pieces are always flattering! Whatever you choose will pair perfectly with a Calvin Klein heel, oh and don’t forget to grab a Land handbag or purse.
You’re dressed, let’s head up another floor, you can grab a bite to eat or you can browse the book store and select a book to read while lounging on the beach or peruse a Bajan Cookbook in the Pages Department, add a bit of the island to your kitchen or select something to ask the chef to prepare later. The third floor also has options for the little ones in your life. You’ve got a gift for him but we can’t forget the kids, the toy section in Bridgetown Duty Free Mall does not disappoint, shop their favourite brands like Baby Alive or Dork Diaries - they have it all. In a Convenient location with a wide selection and great quality.
Well, I’ve taken you to two of my favourite shopping spots on the island but we’ve barely touched the surface, there is so much more to explore as it relates to shopping in beautiful Barbados. What more could you need? The opportunity to shop your favourite labels, minus the hustle and bustle at duty-free prices, and did I mention in paradise?
