Mindful Movement
Mindful Movement was founded by Jasmine Evelyn in 2015. A registered yoga teacher and physiotherapist eager to extend a message of mindfulness to students and patients. Offering outdoor yoga, studio and private yoga classes in Barbados - here there is something for everyone:
- Barre fitness classes - a technique that incorporates the movements of classical ballet with a yoga mat work out. Notably, Barre sessions are one on one only.
- Also on offer are pelvic health and physiotherapy sessions to raise awareness of health issues, showing how pelvic health can be restored through pelvic physiotherapy. Offering Hatha vinyasa - a breath-synchronized movement combining poses with meditation, these classes usually occur on Saturdays from 10 - 11 am as a mixed level practice. For beginners there is a class on Saturdays 11:30 am -12:30 am providing a safe alignment-based approach, focusing on mindfulness and self-awareness.

Yoga Samudra
In Sanskrit, Yoga Samudra translates to yoga by the sea, and this idyllic spa in Barbados is perfect for rejuvenating your mind, body and spirit. For those who enjoy a natural experience, outdoor drop-in sessions are only 20 USD. However, some sessions are also available online, which means you can even practice from the comfort of your home. Yoga Samudra studio classes are also available via their progressive App. Allowing those who so choose, to download their free app and join in on sessions from wherever they are. As with most things, it is better to book in advance so the coordinator can inform of any changes or updates.
The practitioner Jen began the yoga movement after relocating to Barbados and discovering a real need for the product on the island, at the time. Today the studio is a favourite - well-known by residents and visitors. The flows offered at the studio include Vinyasa Flow and Restorative Bliss, taking place at the well known St. Lawrence Gap’s Castaways, in the morning with a gorgeous view of the ocean. For those staying on the West Coast of the island, Pamela Harris of Sunshine Kula Yoga (SKY) teaches Anusara yoga beside the sea and among the trees. Santosha Yoga
Santosha Yoga offers classes in multiple locations from the dreamy Sweetfield Manor in Brittons Hill to the seaside yoga across the island. Sweetfield Manor Boutique is located on one of the most beautiful hideaways, perfect for meditation and serenity. Santosha also offers SUP yoga, which takes place on the water at Carlisle bay, focusing on building core strength and stability. This International teacher was raised in Canada and has also taught dance and fitness in Montreal and New York. Her work originates from combining her two passions: the ocean and yoga. ‘Bawa’ means ‘sea’ in Arawak, one of the indigenous languages of Barbados. Bawa Yoga is an evolving wellness community on the island with a focus on Ashtanga, yin and meditation practices. The primary yoga trainers are Brit Nathalie Golding - Brit is a certified Yoga Alliance instructor with an exciting yet graceful teaching style. She is a Neuro-Linguistic programming master practitioner and a Voice Dialogue facilitator and a certified Advanced Amrit Yoga Teacher trained by the renowned Yogi Amrit Desai. Nathalie blends pranayama, meditation and asanas to provoke precise actions which often cause you to release control and become more connected to yourself.
